Wi-Fi transfer, with the whole library
Open turbo.local on a computer on the same network, enter the PIN, and drag in files and whole folders. Rename, move, copy and delete, download a folder as a zip, play a song in the browser, and build playlists — every change shows on the phone as it happens.

Add a video as a video, or turn it into audio on the way in — copied without re-encoding when the soundtrack allows it.

Gapless, crossfade, and the difference between them
Live albums play without a gap. Crossfade runs from one to twelve seconds, switches itself off inside an album, and a skip by hand gets a short fade instead.

Play next, play last, drag to reorder, the same song more than once, a shuffle that is a real permutation — with the original order one tap away — and a queue saved as a playlist.

Questions
Before you download
01 Does Turbo Music need an internet connection?
Not to play your music. The library, playlists, lyrics you have saved and downloaded podcast episodes all work offline. Radio is the one part that needs a connection, and the app says so when there is none.
02 Is it a streaming service?
No. There is no catalogue to subscribe to: the library is the music and video you bring in yourself — from your computer over Wi-Fi, your Apple Music library, your cloud drive, your NAS or another app.
03 Which formats does it play?
MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF, OGG, Opus, WMA, APE, WavPack and MKA, and video in MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI and WebM, among others — including the ones the system player will not open.
04 Can I play music from my NAS or media server?
Yes. Connect over SMB, WebDAV (Nextcloud included), FTP, SFTP or S3, find DLNA and UPnP servers on your network, or sign in to Jellyfin, Emby or Plex, then browse and download what you want to keep offline.
05 How do I get music from my computer onto my phone?
Open Wi-Fi Transfer in the app and visit turbo.local, or the address it shows, in a browser on the same network. Enter the PIN, then drag in files or whole folders. You can also drop files into the Turbo Music folder in the Files app.
06 Does it have synced lyrics?
Yes — from the file, from an .lrc beside it, or from LRCLIB. When none exist, the app can make them on the device by separating the vocals and recognising the words, without sending the song anywhere.
07 Can it edit or convert my files?
It converts video to audio. Everything else — trimming, ringtones, other formats, removing vocals — is handed to MP3 Converter, and the result comes back into your Turbo Music library.
08 Does it work with CarPlay and Apple Watch?
Yes. CarPlay shows your library, playlists, podcasts and radio, and the Apple Watch app works as a remote or plays music synced to the watch.
09 Are my playlists and play counts backed up?
They sync across your devices through your own iCloud account, and you can export a full backup of the library database, playlists, subscriptions, play counts, equalizer and settings as a single file.
10 Can I lock the app?
Yes. Set a 4- or 6-digit passcode, with Face ID or Touch ID on top, and the app locks when you leave it while the music keeps playing. If you forget the passcode, a recovery code you can have mailed to yourself opens it again.
11 Is there an Android version?
It is on the way. Turbo Music for Android is in development and will be listed here when it reaches Google Play.
